Importing financial data from YNAB

Date: 2025/07/10

Overview

To save time, Thrivasium can import your financial data from YNAB.

Export a CSV fire from YNAB

  1. Sign in to ynab.com and select ‘All Accounts’ in the left panel.
  2. Select the transactions to export from the account register. To select all transactions, click the checkbox on the Table Header.
  3. Click ‘More’ in the Action Bar, then click ‘Export nonn Transactions’ where nonn is the number of transactions for export. Your transactions will be converted into a CSV file by YNAB and downloaded to a folder on your computer or device.

Import the CSV file into Thrivasium

  1. Go to Thrive in Life Kit Settings (iOS) or ‘File’ on main menu (Mac), select ‘Import, select ‘YNAB’.
  2. Locate and select the CSV file for importing.
  3. Fill in the current balances for each imported account. Then, click ‘Save’ to complete the import.

Post-import cleanup

The name of the financial institution associated with the account name is not part of the CSV file and will be initially set to ‘Import YNAB’. Use ‘Manage Institutions’ to create or rename institutions. Use ‘Manage Accounts’ to rename or move accounts between institutions.
